Matt was born in Delaware, Ohio on August 30, 1984 and grew up in Medina, Ohio playing lacrosse, making art, and always investigating new artists and music. Matt’s personality is a dichotomy—spiritual and edgy, original and inspired, clean and risky, small town and big city—but never lacking depth. This dualistic personality drives Matt’s work, bringing it an innocence that makes it relevant while at the same time provoking an edginess that leaves one feeling as if something more was under the surface.

Matt is deeply influenced by his family, God, music, literature, and fine art; from Jack Kerouac and Hunter S. Thompson to Jackson Pollack, M.C. Escher, Jim Dine, and Renaissance art. His modern inspirations include Shepard Fairey and the guerilla art movement.

His small-town warmth and metropolitan awareness make Matt’s work adaptable and relevant for any audience.
